Jessica Ghawi was one of the victims in the shooting that took place in the Colorado Movie Theater. At Toronto mall shooting that took place about one month back she had survived and she wrote in her blog post saying, "How fragile life was." That shooting left two dead and several injured. Her blog post last month said: "I saw the victims of a senseless crime. I saw lives change. I was reminded that we don't know when or where our time on Earth will end. When or where we will breathe our last breath."How true it is that our lives are so fragile that we do not know when and where we will breathe our last breath. But we can make sure that the day and the moment when we may have our last breath on this earth could be the very moment that we enter into heaven. When Jesus was in this world, He urged people to repent from their sins and turn to God so that they could enter in heaven. In Luke 13:3 Jesus said, "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." In Acts 3:19 Peter said, "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,"Unless we repent and turn to God, there is no hope for us. But Jesus came in this world so that He could take away our sins on Himself. He died on behalf of us so that we may not take the punishment for our sins but our sins could be blotted out. In short, Jesus paid the full price of our sin. Now we have to just come at His feet and ask for the forgiveness of our sins. When we ask for the forgiveness of our sins, Jesus gladly forgives and forgets all our sins. He gives us a new life. He not only gives us a new life but also gives us the assurance of heaven and eternal life. Because Jesus said in Jhon 14:1-2 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."What a privilege it is to live with God forever in His holy presence. What a joy and what a great celebration it will be to live with almighty God and rejoice always in His presence. Can you say that if you die today, you are ready to meet your creator?Today, Jesus wants to give us this wonderful life. He wants to remove every sin from our lives and wants to give us eternal life, a life full of His peace and joy. Would you come to Him and take this wonderful life? If yes, please pray this prayer with me:Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. Please wash me with your precious blood. Today, I invite you as my Lord and Savior. I thank you Jesus for giving me eternal life and the assurance of heaven. I give you all the glory to Jesus. I pray this prayer in Jesus mighty name! Amen.

These are the methods of God conveying His message to His children. Today we are going to see some of the reasons and benefits of visions and dreams.1. For Comfort2. For Guidance3. For ProtectionLast time we had looked at point number one and seen how Holy Spirit can bring comfort in our life through dreams and visions. 2. For GuidanceJohn 16:13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."John 16:13 says that Holy Spirit will guide us in all the truth and that He will tell you of the things to come. When we are filled with Holy Spirit we can know the things to come. We all need guidance in our lives at some point or other. We come to the place where we need to know before we take major decisions in our life. At that juncture if you look for guidance from Holy Spirit and wait for the answers He will lead you marvelously. I remember long back that one of our friends told about a good job. He said that he has contact with that company people and he asked me that I should reply to him as soon as possible if I wanted to work in this company. Before I commit for this job I really wanted to know what Jesus and Holy Spirit had to say about it. So I spent time in prayer for guidance. It was really hard to take quick decision in a day or two. Since I had just finished my studies and had never worked before it was harder for me to decide whether I wanted to work there or not. Everybody in my home told me that this job looked good and I also thought in the same way. I prayed that night asking Jesus to give me some kind of assurance whether this job is for me or not. That night I saw a dream. That dream was a very scary dream. In my dream I saw that I was in some office building or some store. I was running and hiding in my dream and somebody was chasing me. It seemed this dream continued for a long time and I was running for my life. When I woke up after seeing this horrifying dream my whole body was perspiring and I was trembling due to fear. In the morning I woke up and knew in my heart that Jesus had already replied my quest. I prayed one more time and I knew that it was not God's will to join that job. I felt very bad thinking how I am going to say "no" for this job which was brought by a friend. Anyway that dream was so scary I never thought to join this job. Meanwhile I got another job which was not much promising nor were they paying a good salary. Months have passed by and I totally forgot about this job for which I decided not to join. One day morning as I took the newspaper to read I was shocked. The big headline said about the arrests they made regarding massive fraud and mishandling of money. It was about this company where I was supposed to join. The newspaper was filled with pictures of some of the girls I knew who were working there. Then only I realized why I saw that horrifying dream and how Holy Spirit had warned me ahead of time through the dream about the coming danger. I escaped only because I waited for the guidance of Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit guides us in all the truth. We humans have limited ability and we can only see things which are just in front of us but Jesus and Holy Spirit can see things which are going to happen in future. That's what John 16:13 says, Holy Spirit will tell you things to come. Is it not wonderful? If you are filled with Holy Spirit what our human eyes can't see He can see and tell us how we can escape from many dangers. Marriage is another important matter in life which needs major decision to be taken. One wrong decision could not only ruin your life but your ministry and eternal life too. If a person gets married with a wrong person it could change the whole plan and purpose of God in their life and it could ruin the things God has planned for them. I remember one incidence which took place right before my eyes. There was a girl who was a new believer. She just got saved and then got filled with Holy Spirit. She had zeal to serve the Lord. So she started a prayer meeting at her home. She preached in those meetings and 45-50 people attended that meeting regularly. This meeting was flourishing and it looked she had a great ministry ahead. She was only in her early twenties and her family members who were not saved started pushing her to get married. I told her to pray and decide. She told that her family doesn't like her to wait and that they are in great hurry. Then one day she told that she is getting married. Everything looked good. The boy was in good job and was good looking and smart. We prayed for her wedding and we saw some dark clouds in our vision. It looked disturbing but anyway she was getting married very next day. The wedding went well and everything looked good from the outside. Then I had no contact with her but from outside sources some disturbing news came. I heard that her husband was a heavy drinker and he would be coming home around mid night fully drunk. It was very sad news. Months went by and I had a chance to meet her once. She said that she is no longer doing any ministry. Her husband never allowed her to pray or fast." After a few more months I met her again. Her face looked swollen and it looked as if she cried the whole night. She told me the same things that her husband would not allow her to attend any spiritual meetings. She married a wrong person and it ruined her spiritual life and ministry. I gave just one example. Many are there who might be going through the same situation. Many are there who had married wrong people and even if their marriage is doing well and they are happy that doesn't mean that they are under God's plan and purpose. Because of one wrong decision they might have ruined God's plan knowingly or unknowingly in some way or other. Being in wrong place with wrong person you might have missed many of God's blessings and ministry potential and who knows probably God considers it as sin as well. You could have won many souls from eternal damnation but because of your wrong choice you probably have pushed those souls into eternal hell fire. And they are going to spend their eternity in hell fire, having not known Jesus, just because of your one misstep. Just as it cost them their life it could cost you some damage or probably greater damage. The point is that God given visions and dreams are for guidance. This could guide us in the right direction and it could help us to better understand God's plan and purpose in our life. We read in the Bible about Peter who was a disciple of Lord Jesus. Bible says that Cornelius was a righteous man and had a visitation from an angel. The angel said to him to call Peter to hear the Gospel through him. People came to meet Peter to take him to Cornelius' house. Peter didn't know who these people were. Peter didn't know the real purpose of their coming. Peter didn't know their motives. How could Peter know whether it was safe to go with them? How could Peter know whether it was the right thing to go with them? At that time Peter knew one thing how he could receive guidance about it. He knew that only Jesus and Holy Spirit could tell him what to do in this situation. So he spent time in prayer. The Bible says in Acts 10 that he saw a vision. Acts 10:9, "The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour.Acts 10:10, "Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a tranceActs 10:11, "and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth.Acts 10:12, "In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.Acts 10:13, "And a voice came to him, "Rise, Peter; kill and eat."Acts 10:14 But Peter said, "Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean."Acts 10:15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed you must not call common."Acts 10:16 This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.Acts 10:17 Now while Peter wondered within himself what this vision which he had seen meant, behold, the men who had been sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate.Acts 10:18 And they called and asked whether Simon, whose surname was Peter, was lodging there.Acts 10:19 While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men are seeking you.Acts 10:20 "Arise therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them."According to the Bible Cornelius was not a Jew and Jews had no contact with the gentiles and they considered non Jews as unclean. God showed this vision to Peter to explain to him that he could go with non-Jews and that it is not wrong. God gives visions and dreams for guidance. If you are spirit filled and you are seeking God's guidance in your personal and spiritual life this guidance is available easily. You can get it by coming to Jesus and spending time in prayer.
