Worry or tension kills a person. But from the Bible we can see how Daniel overcame all the worries and tensions in his life. At times he was in such situations where his life was jeopardized when there was no chance to come out alive and yet worry did not touch his life nor did it alter his thoughts. At the end of all his trials he came out victorious.Once Darius the king of Medes and Persians set one hundred and twenty satraps over the whole kingdom; and over three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss. Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him. Then these men said, "We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God."So these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: "King Darius, live forever! All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter." Therefore King Darius signed the written decree. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. You can see the faith of Daniel in the Almighty God. He knew that no matter whatever would come against his way; God will make a way for him. Had he panicked, he would never have brought a solution for himself but in those moments of utter horror he looked towards God. If we look toward God we can find a solution through the mighty power of God but if we fail to look to Him, we may be dismayed.Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king's decree: "Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?" The king answered and said, "The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter." So they answered and said before the king, "That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day." And the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him. Then these men approached the king, and said to the king, "Know, O king, that it is the law of the Medes and Persians that no decree or statute which the king establishes may be changed." So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you." Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not be changed. Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him.Daniel 6:19-28 tells us the triumphant story of Daniel who came out of the den of lions without even a scratch. What happened at the night was that God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, so that they could not hurt him. As we read in the story:Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?" Then Daniel said to the king, "O king, live forever! "My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you." Then the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God. And the king gave the command, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions; them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den. Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.My friend, God cares for us and He wants to bless and protect us in our lives. He will not allow His children to be eaten by lions. If we put our faith in Jesus, He will send His angel to protect us and deliver us from the hands of vicious animals like lion. He will keep us safe from all harm not only physically but also spiritually. Bible tells us that if we put our trust in Jesus then He will keep us safe eternally. When we die physically He will take us to heaven and will not allow our spirit to be taken over by the devil who is described as roaring lion. Have you given your life to Jesus? If yes, you are forever safe in His mighty hands.

Lord Himself testified about him as a good and holy man. Job 1:8 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?" What does it mean by "hedge from God"? The protection from the enemy satan and all kinds of trouble. As long as the hedge of protection was there, satan was unable to touch Job. That was why he complained to God saying that Job feared God only because of God's hedge of protection. We can have this protection. If we are children of God it is our right and privilege to have such protection from Jesus. This protection is precious and when God protects no one can destroy us. No one will have power on this earth to override this protection and defeat Jesus. Now the question is, "How can we have such protection?"You and I can have such protection from Jesus in two ways.1. Through the precious blood of Jesus2. Through the hedge of protectionYou can plead the blood of Jesus and apply the precious blood of Jesus daily on yourself, on your family, on your children, on your belongings and you can protect yourself. We read in the Old Testament how the children of Israel were protected by the blood of the lamb. They put the blood of the lamb on the door posts of their houses and they escaped from harm and destruction. The same thing happens when we plead the blood of Jesus and we receive protection from the enemy, satan. The blood of Jesus keeps us safe. Exodus 12:13 'Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.The second way is to ask Jesus to put a hedge of protection around you. This protection is available for every saved person. But many times this hedge develops cracks or breaches and the protection get lost. There are many things that bring breach in the hedge. It could be sin, it could be unholy life, it could be walking away from Jesus, it could be living a life which doesn't please God etc. When it happens, satan gets loop holes to get inside, and he could bring any kind of calamities in your life. But there could be many more factors which could breach the hedge. I heard a famous preacher telling once that when we buy things from the store or flea market we need to be careful and we need to pray before bringing anything to our home. He further said that music cd's, books, cassettes and such things could bring calamities like cancer and such incurable sicknesses in ones life. In one of his meetings a woman came for prayer. She had cancer. When this man of God was praying for her he saw a vision and he saw a "book". He asked her if she got a black book from her friend. She said, "Yes" then the preacher said, "This book was witch-crafted and because she brought this book in her home she got cancer. Then he said to her to burn that book and destroy it and the sickness will leave. Well that is true. If the things you are bringing in your home are witch-crafted it could create havoc in your home. If you bring occult and witchcraft related books, novels like Harry potters in your home it could do the same thing. Because such materials carry live demons with it and those demons could stay in your home and could create untold misery in your life. The same thing could happen when you allow your kids to go for trick or treat and do Halloween party. These are not fun stuff but demons are attached with it and you know that demons are no one's friend. They are evil and it is their nature to do evil. Bible says that satan is a liar and the father of it and he is a murderer. So he is not going to do any good in your life. John 8:44 "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.I remember that one day as my family gathered together to spend time in prayer as usual we tried to put a hedge of protection around us and when we were asking Jesus to do so my dad started seeing some visions and demons came in view. We didn't know why we were seeing those demons and what had happened to the hedge and why the hedge was not getting established. We knew for certain that something would have happened in between that the hedge of protection of Jesus was breached. We kept praying but nothing was happening. Then my dad saw few visions of plants. It looked like mint plant. He saw red and green plants of the same variety. The more we prayed, he kept seeing those same plants and they were growing and becoming bigger and bigger in size. We didn't know what that was and after praying some more time we finished the prayer. The next day as I brought one of the beautiful red plants inside since the outside temperature was falling and they couldn't survive outside. Suddenly my sister remembered the vision and asked my dad if it matched with the description of the plant he saw in his vision. He looked at it and very much surprised and said, "Yes, what is it? This is the plant that I was seeing in my vision." Then he asked, "Has these plants tiny pretty flowers too"? Then I showed him the flowers it had. He said, "Yes this is the exact plant I saw in my vision." Then he said that he saw the green variety of the same plant too. Then I said, "I do have green variety too." Then only we knew what the vision meant and why the hedge was breached and was not establishing. There was no way my dad could have seen this plant in his vision since he never knew that I had those plants and this plant was not commonly found in India. I got these plants from one woman from my neighborhood. I saw these plants in her garden and could not resist myself so I asked for it and got it from her. These plants were so pretty that I brought them and planted them with much love. My family members said, "if it hinders and takes away God's protection you need to get rid of it." I was very heart broken but I didn't want any harm for my family. After all it was just a plant and you could always buy and replace it. So I went searching in my pots to see how many I had. To my surprise I found them in many of the pots along with other plants. They were so beautiful that's why I planted them in several pots. Finally after this revelation I pulled them all and threw them away. After throwing them all we prayed again to see if it changed anything. To our great surprise the moment we prayed God showed me a vision and I saw a home with a beautiful fencing around it. My dad also saw similar vision of fortress and we knew that the plants were the culprit that created the breach in God's protection. It looked that those plants were witch-crafted which had created loop holes for satan to enter. Bible says, God hides us in his pavilion and He becomes our protection. Psalms 27:5, "For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock." You and I need this kind of God's protection (hedge) in our life which not only brings protection from enemies but also protects us from sicknesses and various calamities. You can have this wonderful protection by asking Jesus and applying the blood of Jesus upon yourself and your household.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
