2Samuel 21:7 But the king spared Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the LORD's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.In the 21st chapter of 2Samuel we read that there was famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, "It is because of Saul and his bloodthirsty house, because he killed the Gibeonites." So the king called the Gibeonites and spoke to them. Now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; the children of Israel had sworn protection to them, but Saul had sought to kill them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah. Therefore David said to the Gibeonites, "What shall I do for you? And with what shall I make atonement, that you may bless the inheritance of the LORD?" And the Gibeonites said to him, "We will have no silver or gold from Saul or from his house, nor shall you kill any man in Israel for us." So he said, "Whatever you say, I will do for you." Then they answered the king, "As for the man who consumed us and plotted against us, that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the territories of Israel, let seven men of his descendants be delivered to us, and we will hang them before the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD chose." And the king said, "I will give them" (2Samuel 21:7).So as David promised, he provided seven men to be killed but he spared Mephibosheth. Now you can see that Mephibosheth who was one of the descendants of Saul and he deserved death yet he found favor in the eyes of the king David because of Jonathan who was David's friend. His life was spared! This is what favor does to a person. A person who finds favor in the eyes of others gets many blessings. Bible also tells us in Jer 26:18-19, "Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, And the mountain of the temple Like the bare hills of the forest. Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah ever put him to death? Did he not fear the LORD and seek the Lord's favor? And the Lord relented concerning the doom which He had pronounced against them. But we are doing great evil against ourselves."'Psalmist says in Psalms 2:12, "Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him."We need to seek God's favor so that He could save us from hell fire and eternal death. Jesus came for the very reason to save us from death. He went to the cruel cross on behalf of us that our lives could be spared and we could receive eternal life. When we come to a covenant relationship with God just as Jonathan and David had, we also will be spared from death.If we just come to Him and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, our lives can be spared from eternal death just as the life of Mephibosheth was spared. Otherwise Bible tells us that unless a person's sins are forgiven he/she cannot enter into heaven. If heaven is not there for them then hell and eternal death is waiting for them. But by finding favor of God through Jesus we can go to heaven.

We could see demonsBefore we look into how demons work in the lives of people we needs to have the understanding that most of the bad things and bad habits we see in the lives of people are created by the demons. The destruction, sickness and many kinds of sins are brought by demons and it affects the lives of people.Demons could work in the lives of people in three ways.1. Demons could enter inside a person and bring destruction2. Demons can work from outside3. Through witchcraft people could bring demons in the life of a person1. Demons could come inside of a person and bring destructionThis is called demon possession where the demons get inside of a person. These kinds of cases are not commonly seen but you could still see people who are possessed by demons. I have heard that people who are in witchcraft invite demons inside. First these kinds of people or witchcrafters make these demons to work for them and they use these demons to destroy other people's lives. But after a few months or years these demons take control of their own lives and those demons ruin their lives. If such people fail to repent and turn to Jesus and get rid of these demons and if they continue in these demonic activities those demons could drag them to hell fire for eternity. So playing with demons is not a joke. If you are in witchcraft you need to understand the great danger of these kinds of demonic game and realize that in real you are playing with fire and you are putting your soul in the risk of eternal damnation. Bible says that, "devil is a liar". You can't become friends with the demons and think that you can get away from demons after using them.Bible talks in Mark chapter 5 about a man who was possessed with more than 6,000 demons. We do not know how he got these many demons but it could be possible that he was in witchcraft and he himself could have invited demons into his life or he could have been living in some kind of sin and these demons had caught hold of him. You can see how pathetic his condition became because of those demons.Mark 5:1-8, "Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes. 2 And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3 who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains, 4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones. 6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. 7 And he cried out with a loud voice and said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me." 8 For He said to him, "Come out of the man, unclean spirit!"In this chapter we see how one word from Jesus drove away more than 6,000 demons. Jesus has such a power and if you come in His shelter no demons will be able to destroy you.Demons could get inside of a person through watching certain kinds of TV programs, movies, by going through certain kinds of music concerts etc. I heard a true story that a girl went for some kind of rock concert and after coming from there she became demon possessed. She behaved like a mentally ill person and she would be screaming and crying. These days Harry Potter became very famous and youngsters love it. Harry Potter is done with the help of demons and through occult. It could bring demons into your life. So we need to be careful what we watch on tv and what we allow for our kids. It could put your life in ruin.2. Demons work from outsideDemons can't get inside of a believer who is saved and washed by the blood of Jesus. But they can work from outside. These demons could create sickness and problems in your life from outside. I remember that few years back we visited a house. We stayed there overnight. After going there we could start feeling some kind of demonic presence in that home. Evening came and as we were trying to sleep my brother said that he was feeling a bad leg pain. We prayed for him and spent some time in prayer. After an hour or so I saw a vision. In the home where we were staying they had a white 3 feet tall column which is generally used to keep flowers on it and for decorative purposes. I saw a tall demon coming out from behind that column. As he was fleeing away he said, "this is my home for years and I don't want to leave." As soon as I saw this vision and when I saw the demon leaving their home the leg pain was totally gone. Many times we see sicknesses in the lives of people because of these kinds of demons which reside in the homes of people. Many times you see some homes where people always stay sick. They go from one sickness to another and this cycle continues without interruption. I figured out that the people who do witchcraft to destroy the lives of others are themselves destroying their own lives by entertaining these demons. They think that they would destroy others with the help of these demons but these demons live in their homes and create havoc, sicknesses and calamities for them. Never try to entertain demons in your life. Even you see Halloween festival which looks cool with spiders, spider webs and demons. This is not a cool stuff but you are knowingly or unknowingly entertaining those demons and in real you are giving them legal right to come and live in your homes and lives. They would never do any good but they could ruin your life.We saw in the Bible that Jesus drove those demons out and delivered the people from the clutches of satan. You can come to Jesus and you can get rid of these demons. Come to Jesus and surrender your life into the safe hands of Jesus and these demons will flee from your life. Tell Jesus to take control of your life and demons, sickness, calamities will flee from your life. You can receive eternal safety only through Jesus. The more you spend time in the presence of Jesus the more demons will fear you and they will not come closer to you. If you want deliverance from demons and satanic powers there is only one key i.e. JESUS, only Jesus had defeated satan and only He can give you freedom from satan.3. Through witchcraft people could bring demons in the life of a person:People could do witchcraft against you and could send demons to you to destroy you but again if Jesus is in your life you can easily achieve deliverance and you could defeat those demonic attacks on your life.I read a story of a preacher who had some enemies. They hired a witch doctor to harm this preacher. The witch doctor sent a demon to his house to kill him. But the demon could not enter the house of that preacher because he was saved, spirit filled and he spent hours in prayer in the presence of Jesus. Then the demon returned back to the witchcrafter's house and killed one of his cows. The demon returned and told to this witch doctor that they can't enter the house of the preacher because Jesus had put a fence of fire around him and protected him.Job 1:9, "So Satan answered the LORD and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing?Job 1:10, "Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.Bible says that if you love Jesus and if you are a child of God He puts a hedge around you and protects you. Is this not wonderful? Give your life in the hands of Jesus and no demons will ever prevail over you. Jesus Himself will become your protection and hiding place where you can stay safe all the days of your life.I would like to pray for you. Please pray this prayer with me.Lord Jesus I believe that you are God. When you were in this world you won victory over satan and you defeated satan. Lord Jesus please come into my heart. Please take control of my life in your hands. Please put a fence around my home and my life. Cover me and my family with your precious blood and protect us Lord. Do not allow satan to touch me or my family. I give my life into your safe hands. Please become my Lord and savior. Thank you for listening to this prayer. Thank you for becoming everlasting safety for me and my family. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
