Luke 2:13-14, "And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"Christmas season reminds us the great love that was shown from heaven toward mankind. Angels sung, Peace on earth and goodwill toward men! Why? Because God wants us to be in peace and filled with His goodnessFew days back one Muslim man wrote to me and said, "God does not love sinners" and further he said, "if the Christians say that God loves everyone, including the sinful; then the question arises that why does He throw his beloved into Hell fire? Would a parent ever do such a thing to his/her child? It is only that Allah does not love the sinners, so He promises to fill Hell with them all."If God does not love sinners then whom He loves? There is no one in this world who is going to be loved because there is no one who is perfect or good in the sight of God. Bible tells us in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." God loves us very much that's why He came down in this world to save us from hell fire. It is not God who sends us into hell fire but we ourselves chose our destination by choosing evil and rejecting God. Bible says in Ezekiel 18:23, "Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord GOD, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live?"God always wants us to live and be blessed that's why Moses said in Deuteronomy 30:19, "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live."Yes, my friends, Jesus came in this world to die on behalf of us so that we may come out of our sins and live eternally in peace and joy with Him. Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."God wants you to be in heaven that's why He left His heavenly kingdom and came down in this world. He took the human form, suffered greatly, went through terrible pain and agony, not because He hated us but because He loved us greatly. Yes, it was His love that made Him to come down and give His life for us. It was His love that brought Him down because He could not see us going into hell fire and die miserably. Today His love is calling you that you may turn from your evil ways and choose life. He is looking toward you lovingly that you may repent from your sins and turn to God and make peace with Him. If you want perfect peace and good will in your life, invite Jesus in your life. When Jesus will come into your life, He will give you the peace that world can not give. He will fill you with His goodness and blessings and finally take you to heaven.
Exodus 33:14, And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."God told Moses that, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Moses had the responsibility to take Israelites to the Promised Land. It was not an easy job. Moses had to go through terrible problems. At first he faced the opposition from Pharaoh and his army. When he asked to send Israelites out, pharaoh denied continually, Israelites stood against him but still God showed His mighty miracles and brought them out. When they came out of Egypt still it was not an easy task. Pharaoh's army followed them and tried to get them but could not because God protected them from Egyptian army. Still on the way forward Israelites sinned and murmured against God and it brought the wrath of God upon them. In the midst of all these problems and murmuring Moses prays to God in Exodus 33:13, "Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people." And God says to Moses in Exodus 33:14, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."Let us look that how God gives rest and what type of rest He gives.1. Takes away the burden of our sins: Psalmist says in Psalms 38:4-8, "For my iniquities have gone over my head; Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. My wounds are foul and festering Because of my foolishness. I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. For my loins are full of inflammation, And there is no soundness in my flesh. I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the turmoil of my heart."Yes, sin brings great burden and turmoil in our hearts. If you are living in sin then you can not live in peace. You will feel miserable and painful. But God wants to take away all the loads of sin from you and wants to give you rest. Psalmist says in Psalms 55:22, "Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved."And Jesus said in Matthew Mat 11:28-29, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."Do you have a weary heart? Are you loaded with loads of sin? Look to Jesus who can take away all your sins and make you free. He will give you rest from your weary soul.2. Takes away the burden of our problems:We read in Psalms 68:19(RSV), "Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The God is our salvation." He bears our burden everyday. 1 Peter 5:7, "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." There is a God who cares for you and wants to take away all your burdens. He is the God who wants to give you rest and wants to make you worry free. If you are facing problems and are filled with fear and anxiety, look to Jesus. He will take away all your burden gladly and give you His peace and joy that world can not give. 3. Takes away the burden of our sicknesses: He is the God who heals our sicknesses as the Bible says in Exodus 15:26, and said, "If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you." Psalmist says in Psalms 103:3, "Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases." Yes, God wants to heal you from all your sicknesses and want to make you free. He wants to give you rest. If you want this rest, you must invite Jesus in your life as your Lord and Savior. When the Prince of Peace will come in, He will fill your heart with His divine peace and give you rest. He will walk before you and keep you safe.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
