Deu. 28:13,"And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them." In Deu. chapter 27 & 28, Bible says about all the curses and blessings. If we obey God and walk in His ways, all the blessings will come upon us as Bible says in Deu. 28:1-2, "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth and all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the Lord your God." In the life of Joshua, we see that he obeyed the voice of God and blessings flowed in his life. He went in battles and saw victory after victory. God Himself fought for them. In Josh. 23:14, he says that, "Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth, and you know in all hour hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed." Yes, Jesus is faithful to keep His promises. But if we want to see blessings and success in our lives we should obey His commandments and walk in His ways. You are getting this magazine, one day early because I am sending it from NewYork. When I came here I felt like as I am in my home country India. It was fun to climb 354 steps up to the crown of statue of Liberty. If you have any prayer request please feel free to send it to us. Pandita Ramabai II
In Calcutta somebody gave her Sanskrit Bible but she could not understand it so she kept it. When she was with her husband in Asam, she was given a copy of the gospel of Luke in the Bengali language. Here she found the light in the darkness of her despair. After 2 years of marriage life her husband died and she became a widow in this young age. 1883 Ramabai went to England and furthered her education in the Christian faith followed in England, where she joined a team of women who worked among the prostitutes in London. She saw the mighty work of God and how Jesus changed their lives. She understood that this type of change can only come through Jesus Christ. Though she accepted the Christian religion but until this time, she could not find the salvation in her own life. She returned to India in 1888 with only one desire to help uplift downtrodden womanhood. When she was reading her Bible she accepted Christ in her life and gave her life to Jesus. After receiving Christ in her life she had a great desire to work for Jesus. John Paten and Hudson Tailor, both missionaries, had great impact on her life. She started several homes for women and girls whose plight was desperate. These homes became centers of Christian healing in India. In 1905 she appointed seventy Christians whose sole duty it was to surround this work with their prayers. In spite of her many tasks, she found the time to translate the Bible into Marathi, having first mastered the Hebrew and Greek languages. Finally Ramabai went with Lord in the year 1922 to get her final reward. The work she started is still there and it is a blessing for many people today itself. Many people had gotten new life through this mission. How can a weak Brahmin woman whom people rejected as untouched could do this mighty work? Because she gave her life to Christ and lived for Him. In her own words, "What God has done for me He can do for you." Only one life it will soon vanish but whatever done for Christ will last forever.
Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 13th May. 2008
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 13th May. 2008
Printed Version of the Magazine
We are excited to announce that we are starting printed edition of the magazine that will be monthly. And will contain all the four or five issues of a month. Our online magazine will still be free and can be read via email or on our websiteThere was a huge demand that we send our magazine by snail mail.
