Exodus 15:26, "If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you."

Bible, time and again tells us that God of the Bible is a healing God. He delights to heal people. But many believe that God healed in the time of Bible and that now it is not happening or that God does not heal anymore. If anybody preaches about the healing power of God, immediately people will say that it is all made up story or they will say that it just does not happen now a days. But Bible tells a different story. Bible says that God of the Bible is unchanging. God still exercises His healing power. If He could heal people at the time of the Bible, then He can do it today also. Jesus said to His disciples in John 14:12, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Sometimes it is hard to share personal experiences, but I have experienced mighty healing power of God in my own life and in the life of others. Almost three years back I was passing blood with abdominal discomfort. I had no idea what it was and I was scared to tell anybody in my home. My mother is a great cook. She cooks very delicious food. Whenever she cooked spicy food with lot of chilly and as soon as I ate it, it increased my problem in a great deal. I knew in my heart that there was something terribly wrong in my system, but I did not know what it was. I prayed to God, “I am not going to go to any doctor and if you heal me it is fine with me. If not, I am ready to come home. I am ready to die.”

But as soon as I prayed the words, “I am ready to die” it just struck me and I said, “why I should die in this young age, I am not that old to die.” Then suddenly my school and college days flashed before my eyes and I thought, “How I felt humiliated because of my poor scores. Not only my teachers, my friends but also my family members including me thought that I was the dumbest person in the whole world. When I came to God, He changed me and made me a wise person. No one knows that God had changed me. Why I should die without showing them that I am no longer a fool, but God had filled me with His wisdom?”

Well, nothing happened that day but a few days later my condition worsened. Finally I told my problem to my sister and brother. My brother prayed for me and immediately I felt a great relief. After that I never saw that disease in my life. I still do not know what it was but God healed me completely.

Yes, today also His healing power is the same as yesterday. Are you going through terrible problems and different diseases? Doctors might have told you that there is no cure for your disease or that they cannot help you anymore. Look to Jesus! He can help you in your difficult situation. The Bible says in Psalms 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” When no one can help you, God can. He wants to heal your sicknesses, bless your life and wants to see you happy and blessed. For the very reason, He gave His life for us. Invite Jesus in your life and you will never be the same again.

Threefold Blessing

Leviticus 25:18-22, 'So you shall observe My statutes and keep My judgments, and perform them; and you will dwell in the land in safety. Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill, and dwell there in safety. And if you say, "What shall we eat in the seventh year, since we shall not sow nor gather in our produce? Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years. And you shall sow in the eighth year, and eat old produce until the ninth year; until its produce comes in, you shall eat of the old harvest.

God told Moses what the Israelites had to do in the new land in which they were about to go so that God’s blessings may come in their lives and they could dwell in that land in safety. God gave them specific instructions that they should not sow any seed or gather the produce in the seventh year. Then God told them how He would provide for them in that year when they would not sow nor gather the produce. He told them, “I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years. And you shall sow in the eighth year, and eat old produce until the ninth year; until its produce comes in, you shall eat of the old harvest.”

If we think with our common sense or human wisdom, it is impossible to accept that the whole nation could eat for three years with the produce of one year. And of course God is not talking about common sense or human wisdom but He is talking about a supernatural miracle - a miracle through which provision increases automatically according to the need of the people. God promised to bless them three fold if they walked in the ways of God and obeyed Him.

We see similar miracles which happened in the Israelite’s life when they came out of Egypt and were in the wilderness. Bible tells us that they were many in Exodus 12:37, “Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children. A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds; a great deal of livestock.”

It wasn’t a crowd of twenty-five or fifty people but it was a crowd of millions. Moses might have never thought how he could feed these people and from were the food will come for these many people and livestock? But God provided for them in the wilderness. Whenever they were hungry or thirsty, God provided for them miraculously. Bible says in Deuteronomy 32:12, “So the LORD alone led him, And there was no foreign god with him.”

And Bible says in Deuteronomy 8:15-16, "who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock; who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end.”

When God gave them Manna to eat, He told them that for six days they should collect it, but on the seventh day no one should go to collect it. In Exodus 16:29 we read, "See! For the LORD has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth day bread for two days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day."

God increased preserved the Manna supernaturally for them so that they could eat it the next day also. Similar miracles we see in New Testament also. Jesus blessed the two fish and five loves and gave it to the multitudes to eat. They all ate and were filled and further they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.

You may think, “all these things happened in the Bible days, but does it happen today also?” Yes, these types of things happen today also because God is not dead, but He is still alive and well. As long as He is on the throne He will do miracles, deliver His people and bless them abundantly. I remember how God led us miraculously when we had no money and we had no idea from where money will come. My dad was in a very secure and high-ranking job. One day my dad got order that he had no job after three days. It never happens in govt. jobs but it happened to my father. We were studying at that time, my mother never worked so we had no idea how we would survive in this crisis.

Cutting the long story short, my mother used to pray everyday in kitchen before she started any work. And the cooking gas tank that used to last only for fifteen days or so started lasting for two to three months. Even we cooked for Christmas yet it lasted for more than two months. Not only it surprised us but our neighbors too.

Yes, there is a God who wants to bless us and wants to provide for us. Bible says in Proverbs 10:22, “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.” God wants to bless you. Will you accept His blessings? He wants to wipe away your sorrow and tears, will you tell Him that you want His blessings? He is ready to give His riches and blessings to you.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 13th May. 2008

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 13th May. 2008
