Now the war in Iraq is almost over. Many died in this war. Some died in combat, some from enemy fire, some being caught up in between cross fire. One well-known journalist David Bloom who was embedded with the army also died but it was natural death because of clot in his lung. He was only 39 years old. I had seen him very often on TV and it was quite shocking to know that he is no more. Death is a grim reality. Death is bitter truth which we all have to face one day. Every person has to die one day whether poor or rich, king or beggar no one is exempted. You may never know when and how death will come to you but it is for sure that you have to face a day when death will knock at your doorstep. Of course it is not a good thought to think of. Death word itself is horrible but there is no way to avoid it. But Bible does not stop there. It goes beyond it and says that there is a life after death. In Hebrews 9:27 it says, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” Bible also tells us about either one out of two types of places where soul goes after death. One place is good and wonderful where there is no death, no destruction, no pain, no sorrow and no more tears. But the other place is horrible, painful and where people will be in fire forever and will be gnashing their teeth, and shedding bitter tears. If a person goes to that place, then there is no way to turn away from there, that is, there is no way to come out of that place. But while we are still in this world we can prepare to go to that wonderful and blessed place called heaven by avoiding hell. Jesus said in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.Jesus came in this world to save us from eternal death and to give us abundant life. He went to the cross for the very purpose. He tasted death for us so that we need not taste death. He shed His precious blood on the cruel cross so that we could avoid punishment for our sin and we can escape hell fire. Bible also says in Isaiah 53:10-12, “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.”Yes, He poured out His soul unto death. He tasted the bitterest experience any human being could face. He chose the hardest path any human being could go through. Why? Not for Himself but for me, for you and for the whole world’s sin. He died on the cruel cross taking the sin of the whole world on Himself so that we should not go through the terrible bitter experience of eternal death and bitter experiences of our lives. Yes, my friend, you may be going through terrible times today. You might have lost your loved ones and you may be shedding bitter tears today. You might have lost your job or your health because of various sicknesses. But Jesus can wipe away your tears and can give you blessed hope. He can remove your bitter past and can give you a blessed life. That was the very purpose for which He came in this world. Look to Him and He will never let you down. We wish you all a very blessed Good Friday and a very joyous and happy Easter. Let the risen Christ reign in your lives and make your days happy and blessed.

As I look forward to Easter dayI remember the price our Savior paid.Jesus bore our sins upon the crossso that we would not be forever lost.Our Father's loves was so greatHe sent His Son to bear our pain.We lost our fellowship with Himbecause of foolishness and sin.God gave us perfect harmonyand let us rule over everything.He walked with us and talked with usand bestowed upon us perfect love.God gave to us eternal lifebut we gave it up for Satan's lies.It wasn't what our Father wantedbut He gave man free will andHe gave us warning.It broke God's heart when manturned away and Satan took ruleover us that day.We had gone too far to turn back now,when we disobeyed Godsin entered our hearts.The only way we could be redeemedwas by the sacrifice of a sinless man.There was no such man on this earth,but our Father still loved usand wanted us home, He saidI'll send my Son, who has never sinnedto live on earth as a perfect man.It grieved God's heart because He knewthe agony and grief His Son must endure.He would be spat upon and despisedas evil men fought to take His life.The Father gave Him power to escapeat any time He could turn away andno man could touch Him or do Him harm.Of Jesus own will the sacrifice was made.He was nailed to the cross,He turned not away.Jesus loves us with a perfect love andHe went to the cross to buy us back.He paid the price for our every sin.All our stripes were laid on Him.The skies turned dark on Calvary's hill asHe bore the pain for the sins of the world.He defeated Satan forever that day,He shed His innocent bloodthat we might be saved.Now all we must do to be free foreveris invite Jesus in as our Lord and Savior.Thank you Jesus. To God be the glory!

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 13th May. 2008
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 13th May. 2008
