John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

What a wonderful promise of God for each one of us. As soon as a person accepts Jesus as his/her personal Lord and Savior, He gives the right to become children of God. How it happens? The Bible says that if we confess our sins, God forgives our sins and makes us free from our sins. In Leviticus we see that God gave the Law to Moses for the atonement of our sins. We read in Leviticus 5:5-6, 'And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing; and he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD for his sin which he has committed, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats as a sin offering. So the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin.

But in New Testament Jesus the lamb of God came down and gave Himself as sacrifice for the atonement of our sins. And the Bible tells us in 1 John 1:7, "and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." When a person confesses his/her sins and invites Jesus in his/her life, He comes in and wipes away all their sins. The Bible also tells us in 2 Cor 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

Yes, the day you accept Jesus in your life, you are born in the family of God. The almighty God adopts you as His own child. And He takes care of you as His child. He takes care of your day today life. He leads and guides in each and every way of life. And He takes away the fear and worry of future.

Just as an earthly father takes care of his children God the father takes care of every problem we face and meets our every needs we have in our lives. It is His job to provide for His children. When you feel confused about, which way to go and what to do, He gives His heavenly counsel and tells us which way to go and what to do.

Many a times we go through problems and we feel as if there is no way out, but if you are a child of God you need not to worry about anything. He will take care of everything as apostle Peter says in 1 Peter, 5:7 " casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.." He will never let you down. Two and half years back when all our credit cards were full and when we were without a job, God told my brother to start the business of web server. We had no idea from where money could come to give monthly payment for this as we had no money in our hand. But as soon as we acted according to the word of God we saw financial breakthrough in our lives. If you are a child of God cast all your cares on Him, He will take care of every situation of your life. Stop worrying about your finances, your needs or your problem but ask God to intervene in your situation and He will gladly take care of your situation. He will help you to come out from your situation which may be standing like a big mountain before you.

He takes care of your future:

Almost two months back one of my Hindu friends shouted at me and said, "stop all your religious activity and try to settle down in your life. Few years later who will marry you as you will be advanced in your age?" I said, "you are right but I am not worried about my future because my heavenly father takes care of me and my future is safe in His mighty hands." Yes, He removes the worry of your future from your heart and gives peace that passes all understanding. He helps His children to enjoy in every situation though it may seem very difficult and unpleasant.

If you are going through the problems of your life, if you are facing trouble in your life, come to Jesus and cast all your cares upon Him. He will take care of everything. He will take your load upon Himself and give you rest as He promised in Mat 11:28, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

God's call for the ministry

By Sheela Isaac

Many are out doing ministry. But we see with wonder that many of those ministries appear to be not much effective in the same that they do not bring much fruit for the Lord. Why? You may be engaged in the ministry of the Lord and still may not be sure whether your call was from God or not. May be you have not yet started your ministry but may be contemplating whether God's call for you to begin. Let us try to find answers to all these questions.

First of all one should realize that the ministry should not be considered as a mere secular job. It is not that somebody said, "come on I will pay you this much" and you started it. It is the highest calling with which God calls one. It is God's work, you are not working for a man or organization or for money or for name or for fame or for personal gain, but always remember that you are working for the almighty and living God. Let us see quickly how a person could know whether the ministry's call is particularly for him/her or not.

1. God calls with a very specific sign
2. Ministry will continuously be growing
3. It will be an effective one

1. God calls with a very specific sign:
It is God's work so there must be a specific indication or sign. When we read the Bible we find that each and everybody whom God called was for some special purpose or God had some distinct task to fulfill. He called people for it in very precise or clear way.

If we read the life of Moses. God called him from the burning bush. He was tending his father-in-law's sheep and suddenly he heard the call from God.

Exo 3:1, 'Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God." Exo 3:2, "And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed." Exo 3:3, "Then Moses said, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn." Exo 3:4, "So when the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am." Exo 3:5, "Then He said, "Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground." Exo 3:6, "Moreover He said, "I am the God of your father; the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God." Exo 3:7, "And the LORD said: "I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows." Exo 3:8, "So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites." Exo 3:9, "Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them." Exo 3:10, "Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."

Here we find that God calls Moses with a specific mission for a particular task. For that God gives Moses a particular sign to confirm the call and appears in burning bush. Moses had to go down to Egypt to rescue God's people, the Israelites. Here God is calling Moses as a leader over more than 600,000 people. His mission was to go to the king of Egypt and ask him to free the Israelites.

Exo 3:11, "But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?" It looks that Moses was not ready for this task. He did not know that God would call him for a mission. That is why Moses is asking here "who am I that I should go to Pharaoh" who am I that you considered me for this mission. What is my ability to this task? Later we read that Moses says to God "I am not the right person for this mission. I even do not know how to speak fluently." Find my brother Aaron who can do it for you."

Exo 4:10 Then Moses said to the LORD, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue." Yes my friend, Moses was not able in his own sight, he was not eloquent in speaking. According to him he was not the right person to go before the king with stammering lips. But God considered him faithful, trustworthy and able for the mission.

When Moses heard the specific call in his life. He could know that it was God who was calling Him for the ministry a mission. Because he knew it for sure, he could accomplish the task very well. He even suffered for this task; he even had to tolerate all kinds of abusive words spoken against him by his own people. He could face the king pharaoh's harassment of not willing to send the people out from Egypt. Why, because he knew for sure that God has called him.

When God calls one for ministry there should be a clear and specific call. Before you launch yourself out for the ministry, you must have the assurance that the call is from God. Otherwise your ministry will not be an effective one but will turn into utter failure. You will find no purpose for the work you are doing.

2. Ministry will continuously be growing:
If God called you for the ministry you will find that your ministry will continuously be growing. Many problems will come, opposition will come, people will stand against you, people will try to stop your ministry and the work which you are doing for the Lord, but still the ministry will be growing all the time. That is the clear sign that God has called you.

If we read the story of David we find that God called and anointed David to become king. He heard God's call on his life when Prophet Samuel went and anointed him.

1 Sam 16:1, "Now the LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons." 1 Sam 16:13, "Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward."

Later on when King Saul knew that the Lord rejected him from being king and anointed David in his place, he got upset and decided to kill David. He tried to destroy the ministry and mission which God gave to David. But he could not. He chased David for a long time in wilderness and caves to destroy him. But could he destroy the person or ministry which God raised? No.

If God called you for ministry He will always raise you up. If He called you, you will find that your ministry is always growing and expanding because God has ordained the ministry and not man. As long as you stay in His will, as long as you walk in His ways, as long as you try to do His will you will always prosper.

3. It will be an effective one:
If God has called you for a particular ministry, that ministry will turn out to be an effective one. What are the signs of an effective ministry?

Bible says in Acts 10:38, "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Isa 61:1, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;" Isa 61:2, "To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn," Isa 61:3, "To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."

Mat 4:17, "From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

In Jesus' ministry we could see all these above said signs. He healed the sick, devil possessed people were delivered. He went about doing good. He healed the broken hearted, preached the good tiding, preached the gospel of salvation and repentance. He brought liberty to captives who were bound in sin and sinful pleasures. He proclaimed the judgment of the Lord.

If you say, "I am doing an effective ministry, my ministry is fruitful." Then these above said signs will be seen in your ministry too. You will see people being delivered from sin and satan. You will see people repenting from their sins and coming to the Lord. You will see people getting healed and delivered from their sicknesses. You will see evil spirits fleeing from people. You will see broken homes, lives and families healed. These signs were seen in Jesus' ministry. If you are following the master these sign must be following in your ministry too. If not, you are not doing effective ministry but wasting your time as well as other people's time.

Check up your life this day and also ascertain what type of ministry you are doing? Did God call you for the ministry? Did you hear the specific call from God? Do you see growth in your ministry? Are souls getting saved? Is your ministry an effective one as Lord Jesus' ministry, as His disciple's ministry?

May God help you to know.

Allah and Elohim - Are they same God? Part 5

By Sherly Isaac

Many a times Muslims say like this, "Some of the biggest misconceptions that many non-Muslims have about Islam have to do with the word "Allah". Somehow, many people have come to believe that Muslims worship a different God than Christians and Jews. This is totally false, since "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for "God" - and there is only One God. Let there be no doubt - Muslims worship the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David - peace be upon them all. It is important to note that "Allah" is the same word that Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews use for God. If you pick up an Arabic Bible, you will see the word "Allah" being used where "God" is used in English. "Allah" is the only word in the Arabic language equivalent to the English word "God" with a capital "G". "

OK, let me give you one example. A man named Jim thinks in his mind that he is LION. He goes to a zoo and did his makeup as LION. He tries to walk as LION, eat like LION and locks up himself in a cage of LION. He puts a big board outside his cage which says in big, bold letters, "LION, KING OF THE JUNGLE" . Now when people come to zoo, he shows himself as a LION. But need less to say that he is showing himself as a man rather than a LION. Why? Because there is no match in the quality of Jim and LION. If Jim wants to be a LION he must have the qualities of a LION. By simply locking himself in a cage or doing his makeup like LION will not make him a LION. In the same way, the qualities or message of Allah is not matching with the God of the Bible means he is not the God of the Bible.

Let us look at the name of the Elohim/Yahweh God.

We read in Genesis that Bible begins by declaring that God is the Creator of all that exists. The name of God in Gensis 1.1 is used Elohim that is plural in form but not in number. The plural is used for honor or intensity, sometimes known as the plural of majesty.

Yahweh is the personal name for the covenant God of Israel, the pronunciation of which was lost because the Israelites considered it too sacred to vocalize (Ex. 3:14). Yahweh. It is regularly translated "Lord," with capital and small capital letters, to distinguish it from ^adonai, the title, "Lord." Up to this point only Elohim (Hebrew), translated "God," indicating the transcendent God of Creation, has been used in Genesis 1:1. And in New Testament we read the same expression of Jesus when He declared "I AM". The absolute emphatic declaration "I AM" is the exact quality of the God of Abraham which was described in Exodus 3:14, where the words stand for the eternal person of Yahweh. Jesus declared that He existed even before Abraham was. Jesus is God, the Yahweh of the Old Testament.

Yahweh is the name that introduces God in His redemptive capacity. The divine name Yahweh is identified as God's covenant name showing His personal relationship to those who believe. God of the Bible again and again showed Himself as Redeemer, deliverer or Savior. Jesus who is the same Yahweh God of Old Testament and whose name is Yeshua which exactly means "Salvation", the Yahweh God came down to save us from our sins and hell fire.

But the Quran does not say 'Allah' as redeeming or delivering or saving god. But Allah talks about the day of Judgment which is the day of vengeance and the day of getting verdict and sentence. Bible describes that is the day when God will pour out His wrath on those who rejected God and His work. This is the day of God's fury. But the Bible tells us how to escape from this terrible day of the Lord. We can escape from the wrath of God by taking His forgiveness in our lives by coming to the cross and by taking the blood of Jesus in our lives. Yes, Jesus promised for those who belive on His name in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."

So come to the cross and take eternal life in you so that you may never face the day of judgment but have a happy and peaceful life with almighty God.

So again we can see that Allah is not showing the qualities of the God of the Bible. If Allah is the same God of the Bible he should show the qualities of the God of the Bible and give the same message which was spoken of by all the other prophets. But we do not see the same message or the same qualities of Elohim or Yahweh in Allah.
