We read in Genesis about Jacob as a man who purchased the birthright of his brother by giving just some red stew (Gen25: 31-33), as a man who cheated his own brother and usurped the entire blessing intended by his father to be bestowed on Esau and as a man who had to run for his life to withstand the fury of his brother. His brother got very angry when he saw that he was cheated as we read in Genesis 27:41, "So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, "The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob."

Jacob might never have thought of running for his life but he reached the stage where he had to face unexpected problem. Many a times it happens to us also and we face unexpected problems and shed tears. But there is a God who cares for us and who wants to solve our problems. The same God who was with Jacob and who blessed him in all his ways and made him prosperous wants to make you blessed.

Now Jacob comes to a strange land where he lived with his uncle Laban and saw hardship and injustice in his life. First Laban gave Leah instead of Rachel to be his wife and many years later on when he wanted to go to his own country, he refused to send him away with his wives. And Jacob says to his wives in Genesis 31:6-7, "And you know that with all my might I have served your father. "Yet your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me."

You may be going through the same situation where there is no justice, no one to hear your cry, no one to understand you. May be in your office or in your school or college or even in your own home you may be a stranger to others. You might have tried to be best and did best but no favor came on your way. No one might have valued your goodness and good deeds. For what you did, you might have never got the correct credit, but the same God who turned all the curses of Jacob to a blessing and saw the tears and affliction of Jacob will do the same for you. In the midst of hardship and injustice God was with Jacob and blessed him and he became exceedingly prosperous as we read in Genesis 30:43, "Thus the man became exceedingly prosperous, and had large flocks, female and male servants, and camels and donkeys."

After this when Jacob fled form Laban's house and when he was half way, Laban comes and gets him. Laban came to take him back or to harm him but we read in Genesis 31:29, "It is in my power to do you harm, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, 'Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.'

Jacob stepped out from the place where he had afflictions and injustice and he fled from that place. Sometimes blessing never comes unless we step out from where we are. Many a times we bear everything and live in that place. We feel satisfied in a little and we try to figure it out as t is a great blessing but no, God wants us to step out and go to greater dimension which he has prepared for us. He wants us to come out from the place of hardship, affliction and the place of tears and move forward where God's blessings abound and where God wants to make us happy and blessed. And when you step out to go to that place devil will try to get you back and to send you to the same place that was miserable and painful. But the Bible tells us in James 4:7, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." Yes, if you are in the will of God and if you submit to God, God will help you and when you resist the devil he will flee from you.

I invite you to step out from your miserable state and flee from the place which is a den of the devil. Start a new beginning with God to go into new dimension which is more beautiful, blessed. Yes, God wants you to take the blessings which He has kept for you.

Allah and Elohim - are they same God? III

By Sherly Isaac

Islam is the fastest growing religion all over the world. In UK many Christian Churches have turned to become Mosques. What is the reason that even many Christian priests and Christians are turning to Islam? Well, I think that the main reason is that they do not have knowledge of the Bible or of the Quran. They do not know what is written in the Bible or in the Quran. Most of them are deceived saying that their God and Allah is the same God, but reality is far-far away from it. I talked to many Muslims in message boards and many converts to Islam. When I asked them why they got converted to Islam, there was no answer at all. When I insisted to tell their story to know whether they really found truth or not, some of them got very angry and said that it is an insult to ask regarding others faith. Yes, it is insult and shame because even they themselves do not know why they changed their religion. Let us once again look into the Bible and see whether Allah and Elohim are the same or not.

Let us again go back to Genesis and read few instances. Bible tells us that God spoke to ordinary people those who were not prophets like He spoke to Adam and Eve. When Adam and Eve sinned He came down, walked in the garden and the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?" (Genesis 3:9) Adam and Eve were not prophets but they were ordinary people.

Again we read in the 4th chapter of Genesis that God spoke to Cain - a murderer of his brother as we read in Genesis 4:9, "Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" He said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?" Cain was not a prophet but a sinner.

Again we read in the 6th chapter of Genesis that God spoke to Noah directing him to make an ark. And God gave all the specifications as to how to make it, what would be its width, length etc. Noah was not a prophet but was a ordinary man.

Now come down to the 12th chapter of Genesis that God spoke to Abraham though the Bible does not consider him as a prophet. The 16th chapter of Genesis says that God spoke to Hagar and of course Hagar was not a prophetess. And the list goes on. From Genesis to Revelation we see that God wants to talk to us and to have fellowship with us no matter we are prophets or not. He wants to come down and walk with us. He wants to live in our homes and guide us and lead us in everything.

But contrary to it Mohammed never heard the voice of God. Whenever he spoke, he spoke to the so called angel Gabriel. I never read of any prophet in the Bible who never heard the voice of God or who never spoke to God.

Let us see who a prophet is:

A prophet is a mouthpiece of God. A prophet is a man or woman who can touch the heart of God and bring message of God for people, for himself/herself, for his family and friends, for his community, for his nation and for the whole world. Take the example of Moses. Whenever people complained to Moses, Moses went to God and asked and brought a message for them from God. This is a prophet who brings a heavenly solution for people. If a person thinks he/she is a prophet and never heard the voice of God then how is it possible that he/she can be a prophet?

Moses and the Israelites were standing at the brink of the Red sea and the Egyptian army was following them. From both sides they saw nothing but death. In that situation they desperately needed a heavenly solution. Moses says to the Israelites in Exodus 14:13-14, "And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. "The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."

And we read in Exodus 14:15-16, "And the LORD said to Moses, "Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. "But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea."

Yes, a prophet brings heavenly solution and heavenly word from God for people.

Again we read in Exo 15:23-25, "Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people complained against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" So he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them. And there He tested them,"

When people complained to Moses and said, "we do not have water to drink because it is bitter water," immediately Moses went and asked God what to do now? And the Lord God showed him a tree and when he cast it in to the waters, they could drink that water. Yes, this is a prophet who brings the exact word from God for a particular situation and tells people what to do.

But contrary to it we do not see any of these qualities in Mohammed. God never spoke to Mohammed and also he never brought any heavenly solution for anybody. Again this proves that God of the Bible and Allah are different and their qualities are totally different and their messages are totally contradictory to each other. If they are the same God then they should agree with each other and show the same qualities and give the same message.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
