Some days back I read this true story.... The Rogers are devout Christians who have built a strong family. The father has a special interest in the spiritual condition of each of his children and often would quiz them in order to know if they were sure of their salvation. Occasionally he would ask them to share in their own words about their relationship with Jesus Christ. One day it was the turn of seven-year-old Jimmy turn to express how he knew he had eternal life. Jimmy told his version: "I think it will be something like this in Heaven. One day when we all get to go to Heaven, it will be time for the big angel to read from the big book the names of all the people who will be there. He will come to the Rogers family and say, 'Daddy Rogers?' and Daddy will say, 'Here!' Then the angel will call out, 'Mommy Rogers?' and Mommy will say 'Here!' Then the angel will come down to call out Susie Rogers and Mavis Rogers, and they will both say, 'Here!' " He paused, took a big deep breath and continued. "And finally that big angel will read my name, Jimmy Rogers, and because I'm little and maybe he'll miss me, I'll jump and shout real loud, 'Here!' to make sure he knows I'm there." Just a few days later there was a tragic accident. A car struck down little Jimmy Rogers as he made his way to catch the school bus. He was rushed by ambulance to the hospital, and all the family members were summoned. The child was in critical condition. The little family group gathered around the bed in which little Jimmy now lay with no movement, no consciousness and no hope for recovery. The doctors had done all that was in their power. Jimmy would probably be gone by morning. The family prayed and waited. Late in the night the little boy seemed to be stirring a bit. They all moved closer. They saw his lips move; just one word was all he uttered before he passed from this life. But what a word of comfort and hope for a grieving family he left behind. In the clear voice of a little boy, loud and clear enough so that all could hear and understand, little Jimmy Rogers said the one word: "Here!" And then he was gone to another life beyond this world, where a big angel was reading the names of all those written there. Yes, My friend, there is no time for death, it can come to anybody, anytime. But the question is, "Are you ready to meet our savior?" If you die today, where will you go? Do you have assurance that you will be going to heaven? If not, this is the time to make sure to go to heaven.. Tomorrow may be very late. If you want to go on vacation, you book the tickets before hand, in the same way you have to book your tickets for heaven before hand. Enduring Home
2 Corinthians 5:1, "For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." Yes my friends Jesus is preparing a house for us which is not earthly but heavenly, which is eternal, which will endure forever. That's why Lord Jesus said in John 14:2, "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:3, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." Jesus is preparing a home for us in heaven. Let us see how heaven looks like? See the description of new Jerusalem. Revelation 21:18, "The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. Revelation 21:19, "The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones:......." Revelation 21:21, "The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass." How beautiful a place it must be where Lord Jesus is preparing for us. What a day it will be when we will reach there and live in this beautiful place for ever and ever. Have you ever thought about it? Have you ever desired to reach this place? Have you ever tried to find out how to reach this place? Many times I see people having different opinions about going to heaven. Some look so relaxed when you talk to them they say "who knows whether there is heaven or hell, when I die, then I will see what is going to happen?" Some think they are leading very good life and so there is no need to worry about heaven now because they have concluded that they are straight away going to heaven. Some think "I am in a Christian family, I am following all the rules of Church so I am going to heaven." But my friends every thing needs an assurance. There is no use saying in vain that I will some how reach heaven, it's not so. 2 Peter 1:10, "Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble." Make sure whether you have full assurance, confidence that you have a place in heaven. It's not an opinion a conclusion reached without proper knowledge that I may reach heaven, but its a sure experience. Experience of salvation where a person can say with assurance that he/she has a place in heaven. Bible clearly says that only saved person will reach heaven, others not. Revelation 21:24, "And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it." Revelation 21:27, "But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life." Bible clearly says that only those whose sins are washed by the blood of Jesus will reach heaven. Revelation 7:13, "Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?" Revelation 7:14, "And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." Revelation 7:15, "Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them." Yes the people who gets saved will reach heaven, people whose name is written in the book of Lamb (Jesus) will reach heaven, the people whose sins are forgiven means washed by the blood of Jesus will reach heaven not others. My dear friends make your election sure. God is preparing enduring home for His people, but think about it, can you say with assurance that you are that person? Can you say that you have a place in heaven? Can you say for 100% sure that you will reach heaven? Are you a blood washed person? If not come to Calvary's Cross and repent from your sins and assure a place in heaven. Please pray this prayer with sincere heart: Lord Jesus I know that I am a sinner. I am not sure whether I will reach heaven or not. But today I come to your presence. Lord I believe that you died for me, you have shed your precious blood on the Cross for me. Lord I believe that you can save my soul from hell. I believe that your blood can cleanse me from all my sins. Please wash away my sins with your blood make me whole again. Today onwards you are my God, you are my master, you are my savior. I pray in Jesus name Amen.
Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 9th Sep. 2008
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 9th Sep. 2008
